Starting issue

I recently bent a front control arm driving like an idiot in the rain trying to follow a friend of mine who wanted me to follow him. I couldn't keep up on a road I didn't know at the speed he was driving and hopped a curb trying to stay up with him. The car started up fine after this and while the airbag malfunction light came on, I was able to keep it running and started it up three times in total while it was on the side of the road waiting for a tow home.

I have the car up on stands at the moment. The sub frome has to come down to replace the control arm bushing so that it is drivable enough to get to a shop for an alignment and frame check.

Anyway,
After working on the car for two days straight I got the bent arm out of the bushing and decided to take a short break and start the car up. I've been having cold start problems recently but because school ends monday I was going to wait until then to take it in. The starter clicked a few times slowly and then cut off. My Check Engine (yellow), Airbag malfunction light, ABS light, and breifly a DSC light all came on. After that initial time, the relay clicks and the starter clicks once, then nothing. The head unit is going haywire, and my scangauge read no codes.

Sounds like a problem due to sitting, not due to my stupidity crashing. Any ideas other then having it towed to a dealer for a reflash once the suspension is together?

Well it wasn'e due to bad driving, I didn't know the road and it came back to bite me in the ***. Regardless of skill level I shouldn't have put myself in the situation to begin with and now I get to pay for it.
First time was bad driving because I actually had time to save it and froze up. This time I saved it as best I could and a bent control arm seems to be the only physical damage.

Any actual input as to the topic or...?

Did you check the battery? And the battery connections?

Yep everything looks fine to me, I threw on some jumper cables from my other car and no luck. Probably the starter contacts or maybe the starter itself. If something is gonna be broken, a starter doesn't bother me as much as a lot of other stuff.

Far away diagnosis after an accident can be a little tough.

Best of luck fixing it.

Yea, If I'm not mistaken the starter is right by that wheelwell behind the bumper, so its not unlikely that it took a it of a jerk. Once the car is rolling if I can't get it started I'll jsut push it down the hill and drop it into gear, then take her to a shop.

It may be the starter, but I'd go ahead and charge the battery up good, just to be sure. These cars don't seem to like starting on a set of jumpers....

I charged the batteru for 4 hours at 30 amps and she started up so I guess it was really really dead...thanks for all the input guys. Imagine how much confusion over a dead battery

Glad you managed to fit the starting problem. How is the rest of the fix coming along?
