What kind of noise does a failing supercharger make? I have an on-again, off-again high whistling noise. Mechanic suggested it might be the supercharger failing. It is not a brake squeal, which I also have, but a high pitched whine/whistle and it does not happen when I put my foot on the gas!

The only noise I hear on your video is the sweet song of the supercharger engaging. That's what mine sounds like. I just had my sound checked out today and thank goodness it was not the supercharger. The mechanic told me it was the brakes. I didn't know brakes made noise on their own without the pedal being depressed.
