ASC warning light - but no ASC fitted!
ASC warning light - but no ASC fitted!
Hi All,
My first post here. I swapped a kph speedo for an mph speedo on a friend's Cooper. It's all fine - except that the ASC light is on. But ASC is not fitted to this car!
I have, since fitting, got someone to 'digitally correct' speedo, EWS and keys. This made no difference to the ASC light.
Any comments or advice?

Did you mean the ASC light is on all the time? What are the country specs of the car and the replacement speedo?
I suggest swapping only the gauge dial plates of the speedos, not the entire unit (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ghlight=speedo). Check that the labels for the warning lights are in the same positions for the two dials (e.g. they are different between U.S. and Europe).

Yes, the ASC light is on all the time. I have already swapped the unit following the link you gave, and had it synchronised with the car. The country spec for the car is Cyprus, and it is now running with a s/h UK speedo. I presume that the car this came from had ASC.
I wanted miles on the odometer - something that cannot be achieved with a dial change. The rev counter was not changed - and that is where the ASC warning light appears.
