Service Due..

My 90 000 km service is due and i plan on taking it to MINI to service the car.
I have basic mods done, such as 17% pulley, exhaust etc. What should i tell them to check and/or replace?

Your belt will be a different size; they cannot use the stock length. I think stock length is 1388mm. I have a 15% pulley, and my belt was swapped to a 1374mm length. Unless your supercharger is failing, the pulley upgrade should not be an issue. Also, if you have upgraded plugs, they need to know not to change them or put back the same kind. Just keep in mind if you have a tune done, they need to know not to reflash it with recall updates.

Yes, the belt would be included in Inspection II. Many boost designs use two belts. The primary belt connects all of the peripherals. The supercharger usually spins on a separate belt to the crank. MINIs were designed with a single belt.

I'm guessing the belt size I have will work for you as well. Detroit Tuned lists a 1379mm belt, which is slightly longer than mine: http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=186. I researched further in the NAM forum, and it appears the 1374mm belt is the JCW belt. Here's a thread that helps explain belt length: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...19-pulley.html.

The way it was explained to me, the proper belt will allow for the first hole to show on the tensioner rod (sticks up through the spring up top opposite of the tensioner pulley itself). The rod should stick out (I think) about 8-10mm. You should be able to see it using a flashlight. Refernence this image: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...19-post24.html.

Hopefully you will have at least one shop tech that is familiar with the aftermarket mods.
