Clear bra and stripes

So I was looking at the Clearbra on my 6 month old Clubman when I noticed that, rather than installing the sportstripes over over the clearbra, the dealer actually installed the stripes first and then cut the clearbra around the stripes. Not a big deal now, but if I ever get tired of the stripes I'm looking at a new clearbra install, which does not make me happy. Has anyone ever seen this before. Why would they do that?

Well, at least you can change your stripes and not mess up your clearbra.

I'm not sure why you have a problem with where the Clear Bra is...is it in the Normal Places, Lower Front Bumper, R/L Side Fenders, and Hood?? The Clear Bra is for Protection of the Front of your Car, not for the convenience of being able to remove the Bonnet Stripes easily.

Mine is installed as stated above along with both Door Edges, goes most of the way up the Hood and completely covers the Bonnet Stripes to mid-point of the Hood. I purchased it as piece of mind to protect the Paint on the Front of my MINI, it has done a Fantastic Job Too!!

I don't have a problem where the clear bra is, but where it isn't: under the stripes. Not a big deal now, but if I decide to remove the stripes I'll have to deal with the clearbra. Sorry if that's a hard concept to grasp.

I'm aware that the purpose of clear bra is not to make stripe removal easier, but it shouldn't make it harder. Seems like I got the worst option possible: clearbra isn't protecting the stripes, but if I remove them I pretty much have to have the bra on the hood redone.

true LittleJoe, I can change them, but if I choose to go stripeless the job will take more time and money than it should. What can I say, I'm a cheap bastard.

I just thought it was odd, I've seen threads here debating which should go on top, but I've never heard of them being installed side-by-side.

The Clear Bra is usually put on first and the stripes on top of the Clear Bra. That way, you can remove and replace the stripes without having to remove the Clear Bra.

It doesn't sound to me like your dealer has had much experience with the Clear Bra. I have never heard of a dealer cutting one to fit around the stripes.

Both of my MINIs have the Clear Bra underneath the stripes. You just cannot tell unless you really eyeball the bonnet for the telltale "line of demarcation".

My Clear Bra is 'over' the Stripes, and the Dealer is not the one who installed them, they have an independent shop do the Clear Bra Insall.

That's nice, I guess...to each his own, as long as the front of the car is protected. However, HIS problem is that his dealer cut the Clear Bra to fit on each side of his stripes. He is concerned about what happens if he decides to change out his stripes...will he need a new Clear Bra, or will he have to get new stripes the same size as the Clear Bra the dealer made the stripes fit around? I have NEVER heard of that being done...have you?

Yeah, that's just ridiculous. The stripes should have been placed over the clear bra.
Like you mentioned, if you ever wanted to remove the stripes or even change the style of the stripes, you will need to replace the clear bra on the bonnet.
Stripes shouldn't be placed under the clear bra either.

I would have them redo to clear bra and stripes.
