Grinding noise.

I have a 2005 MCS. Yesterday I turned the a/c on for the first time since last summer. It started making a grinding like sound aon the driver side when a secondary fan kicked it. The a/c blew cold air. When I turn the a/c off the sound goes away. Does anyone know what this is?

Check your power steering cooling fan...could be partially seized up. It is designed to come on with the activation of A/C.
