I have and 06 r53 that I bought new, It now has 44,500 miles on it. It has the Aisin 6 speed paddle shift tranny . I've never had any problems with it. My factory 4 yr. warranty runs out next week. Should I buy some sort of extended warranty insurance to cover the mechanicals or just wait and see.Has anyone had any long term experience with this tranny. Ron Simon

 

bullet proof dependable. I'd be more concerned about other issues that surround the tranny, rather than the tranny itself, which is built by Toyota. I'd change the fluid tho, maybe every 30K or so.
