I've been trying to change the personal profile on my new Mini without any success. I'm trying to disable the auto-lock feature and enable the daytime running lights. Following the procedures in the owners manual, I start with the key on and tap the end of the directional stalk until I get SET INFO, a long tap and I get CHECK INFO, a short tap and I get SET with the clock displayed, another short tap and I've got SET and the date display, one more short tap and I get HOME. The locking, drl symbols, turn signals, etc. are never displayed. What am I doing wrong? ( It's 70 mi back to the dealer.)

 

Sounds like you did not press the start button after inserting the FOB in the slot. Do not press the clutch or brake when pressing the start button.
Those settings are in the key with check-mark menu.

 

You're absolutely correct; I did not press the start/stop button before beginning the process. I'll try that in the morning and see if I get any better results. Thanks for the timely response. My previous toy car was a first generation Miata and most of the time I thought I was smarter than it was. The Mini seems like it will be a great little car but clearly we are not intellectual equals.
