Physically removing battery from '06
Hello Forum,
It's time to replace my battery and I can't seen to figure out how to get the battery out of the box. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to get a grip on it? Is there a strap or something I'm missing?
The battery currently in place is the OE battery.
Thank you in advance for any help, tips or tricks.
Regards,
Chris

Chris-
Yes, it's heavy. No, there are no handles. Remove any rings from your fingers! Disconnect vent tube. Disconnect neg. terminal and cover the neg. post with one of those plastic terminal covers or duct tape. Disconnect pos. terminal. Using a Philips Head screwdriver, unscrew the long hold-down strap screw, then remove the 10mm nut holding the hold-down strap and remove the hold-down strap. Push the battery leads aside. Wiggle battery slightly to the rear to clear the front lip. Grasp left and right sides of battery and lift it carefully up out of the box.
Installation is the reverse of the above.
