Clutch/Engine clicking noise

Hey so I've been having this clicking noise coming from my car. I've looked all over the forums but I don't think anybody has the same problem as me.

When i'm driving the car there is a faint clicking noise that gets faster as the engine rev's. It happens while im driving, and the when i had the shifter in neutral and rev the engine.

The weird thing is it goes away when i depress the clutch. It even goes away when i touch the pedal down even like 1/8 of an inch....

I gave it to the dealer and they said they've had this problem reported before and they say its "normal"... Which i don't think i really buy into. The noise isn't super loud, but its definitely noticeable, and i'm afraid its going to have some effect on the car down the line, when i'm out of my warranty...

Edit: So I just drove the car and noticed the clicking seems to go away after 3k rpms.... It could be just that the engine is loud so i can't hear it, but it really does seem to go away.

Also sitting at a light with the shifter in neutral and the clutch not depressed, there is a slight squeeking noise, which goes away pushing the clutch, even only like 1/8 inch down, which is strange...

Mine does that too. It tends to go away after a few miles after starting it up in the morning. These cars have a lot of "normal" noises according to Mini. It's an improvement over the '03 that I had. You couldn't hear much over the sound of the electric PS pump.

Okay so I guess I'm not the only one with this noise.... I expected to see some other topics about it if it was normal and a bunch of people had it lol...

JamesHunt, what do you mean, "lifters"?
