red line, limp mode, then SES

I've owned an o4 MCS and recently got an o5 MCS with Dinan stage 5 upgrades. Perhaps the Dinan stuff is incidental.

On both cars - on occasion, when I have red lined the car , it has gone into limp mode, SES light comes on and I need to stop and restart the car to being it back to life. The SES light goes off in a day or 2. However, the whole experience makes me feel like I did a BAD thing.

Anyone know what happened?

I'd like to know what happened as well. Makes me nervous about shifting red line.

maybe u passed redline both times?? im not exactly sure what happens when u pass redline... but if this isnt the case then id have to say maybe your bypass valve needs to be replaced... i never really chance at shifting exactly at redline... but then again im kinda new to the whole 6-speed thing.

Dininan stage 5 has a higher than normal redline I think....part of the software update....so playing with it at redline should be done with extreme caution.....people have been known to spin bearings, etc at higher than normal redlines.....I would plan of shifting a bit lower unless you are ready to make the 6000-10000$ gamble that everything will be ok.... Just a thought.. Z

One more thought....not sure if what they do to modify the fuel system...on some Dinian upgrades they do...perhaps you are running into the fuel flow cutoff...I've heard of some folks with tunes encountering it...maybe you are too!

I would call Dinan, tell them what is happening and see if they can help you. They ar the best ones to ask as they may have run into this problem before and can give you an easy fix.
