computer show outside temperature very high than power steering stop working

Hi all,

I have this weird problem, I think it normally happened during heavy traffic jam. When I check the outside temperature via the computer during traffic jam, it show the temperature is increasing quite fast and it can reach up to 39.5 - 40+ celcius even its a raining day

It will come down after it reached the peak (not sure when is the peak) and at that time, my power steering stopped working, it become so hard to turn while driving (it happen two or three times). I only get back my power steering when the temperature is decreasing or I stop/off and start back my car.

Any idea what is wrong? is it my power steering is dying

Thanks

It doesn't sound good. The power steering is dying. Not sure if the temp thing is related though. I think if the sensor shorts, it defaults to -40.
