Another major engine failure.......
So. Are they giving you a loaner?
A lot of folks still get upset when their cars needs service, due to the inconvenience. I don't believe in that, as these cars are pretty complex pieces of machinery, and machinery breaks, occasionally. Even with the best of care. It sounds like you appreciate that, based on references to racing, rebuilding, etc.
I am really glad they are taking care of you, but I would still consider independant service. It might not be worth it, but I would think about it pretty hard.
Good luck with BOTH cars! I hope you see another 75K with them!

Another thought (2 cents) on the reversal to "free engine" - most manufacturers will "repossess" problem engines (and other major systems) for further study - I worked at a Chry-Dodge-Jeep dealership and we had a Hemi that was replaced, w/ the bad engine picked up by Mopar after instructions not to touch it further.
The dealership may also be under "instruction" not to release any further information based on the litigious society we've become (avoiding lawyers) - I know it can be frustrating, but if it we're me I'd say thank you very much and start paying closer attention (documentation) to my usage and maintenance. Think of it as the old saying about changing the things you can, accepting the things you can't, and knowing the difference between them.
Now you can make the '03 "bionic": stronger - faster - better ...
