Fuel Pump issues I think??

I have an 02 MC and recently had to replace the power steering pump. After replacing the psp it wouldn't start. It would crank but would not start. I checked for fire and had it. I know it's getting air so then I took off a fuel line and had my wife crank it and nothing came out. I then checked all the fuses and relays and determined that it must be the fuel pump that was bad. After replacing the fuel pump I still have the same problem. So now I am beginning to think the first fuel pump wasn't bad. Is there something I am missing or haven't checked? Please let me know.

check the electric connection on top of pump if that's good open the tank back up and check ALL the connections. Having done a few of them I know it's a PIA and it's easy to get a line off and or twisted. Check both side of tank.

Most likely the relay. try and put 12 volts directly to the fuel pump. If it turns on, you have your answer!
