Windshield Washer Fluid Dipstick Broken

I just refilled my washer fluid reservoirs and noticed that the dipstick for the reservoir on the left (driver) side has broken off at the very top. I can't see what's left of it in the tube. Any ideas on how to get the broken part out so I can replace it with a new one?

There is no dipstick in the washer reservoir so that may be why you can't find any trace of it. The windshield washer reservoir is located in the passenger side wheel well on the '06 MCS and has a blue oval cover (sits right above the passenger wheel well).

Just looked at the manual. There is a reservoir for the headlight washers on the driver side. I don't have that so I don't know any details on it.

That's the one I'm talking about.

I would not worry about it. It is in the way everytime I fill mine up...been thinking about cutting it off.
IMO if you open the hood, and pull the cap off the washer resivour, just fill it up. The dipstck on it is kinda stupid....afterall, the one you use all the time does not have a dipstick!! (unless you have a '06 with the glowing stalk to let you know it is low).

I agree I don't really need a dipstick, especially since the blinker stalk blinks yellow when it is low. I'm just kind of worried that the broken dipstick will work its way into and clog the feed line to the pump and cause damage. I tried snaking it with one of those little devices for picking up dropped things from crevices, but was unable to determine if it was within reach. Maybe when the level gets down a bit I'll be able to see it with a flashlight. I'd prefer to get it out, even if I never replace it.

Just take your MCS, turn upside down, and shake
