Different size sparkplugs for various years?

Different size sparkplugs for various years?
I have 03 mcs and just bought some Brisk DR12S. So i remove my old plug and try to thread the new one. it doesn't thread so i'm confused. Compared both plugs and my originals are clearly larger than the Brisks.

Any ideas for this discrepancy?
