Where did my 2psi of boost go?
After adding my 15% pulley, the car had about 14.7 psi of peak boost (per the ScanGauge) for the past 2 years... early this year I added a Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve and that bumped me just over 15psi where it has stayed.
I just noticed a few days ago that the car was maxing out at about 13.5psi... suspected maybe a small IC boot hole - I had a spare pair of new boots, so I swapped them out - made no difference - still peaking at about 13.5psi... otherwise the car is running fine, no CEL, no codes. Vacuum levels look like they should.
Any ideas of other things to check that might lose 1.5psi or so? I really don't want to pull the BPV again unless I must - it's a PITA...
Other facts:
56,000 miles
new belt about 5,000 miles ago
Don't hear or feel the belt slipping
original tensioner

Yeah... I was disbelieving that a 5,000 mile old 060535 which was TIGHT when I installed it would be slipping... but I opened the bonnet in the garage last night and revved it - and think I can hear to slipping. And the tensioner is down to half a hole again...
So I'm gonna put a gatorback on it, and orderd a new tensioner and DT stop to install while I have it apart. Hopefully will get it done this weekend.
Thanks

Paul is there a way to diagnose if you need a new tensioner?? I'm going to be changing my belt soon, but I only have 45,000 on the clock...does the tensioner really go bad that quickly??
btw: do you think the belt has something to do with your hesitation symptoms?? did you ever get that figured out? I haven't seen any activity lately on the thread

My hesitation pretty much went away when I swapped back to my OEM header.
Completely sure the belt had nothing to do with that issue - as boost was fine, throttle was the problem.
Regarding the tensioner - unless it fails (which they sometimes do when a belt breaks), replacement of it is purely preventative - though some folks have said that the spring and/or shock get "weaker" with lots of miles... some folks say "you don't ever need to replace it unless it breaks". There are other folks who replace theirs every 50K or so just to be safe. I'm gonna start doing the 50K preventative - it's not that expensive.
