Just got a recall on my Mini "S". It says"My vibration damper on the engine could fail. The potential consequences are a reduction in engine power, followed by the possibility of damage to the engine." I called the Mini service dept. and they no nothing. I'll get back later with a update.

Like two or three weeks ago I already tell to all of you guys, that the Mini´s had a factory recall, mine was not delivered until they change the crankshaft pulley or damper, use the name that you want, they informe the same than you but they DO NOT delivery the cars until the problem had been correct with the part replaced.

If you look at the past letters in this same section, you guys can see what I advise to all of you, anyway if they do not change the part, just be aware and be carefull to keep your temperature gauge on the right level, and try to be alert to any rare noise becasue if the crankshaft pulley came to be loose, first will affect your one piece water pump, alternator, a/c and supercharger belt, then I do not want to imagine what else could affect if the pulley came off.

Urge your dealer to change the piece, I will try to get the part number for all of you guys with the Cooper S, remember, this is only for the S
