Ok so I take dummy of the day award.

I was changing my starter and plugs. Disconnected everything but didn't label where I got which wire and where it goes back to. Can one of you kind souls have a quick look under your bonnet and give me the right order please? I'll be waiting patiently.

Doh! Doh! Doh!

naturally, NONE of my pictures of Mr.Motor show the arrangement of the plug wires. Thankfully, after some searching, it seems the order is like this:

From the Front passenger corner, going counter-clockwise, 1, 2, 3, 4
front passenger #1
front driver #2
rear driver #3
rear passenger #4

Ah, I loved the last bit! It's what I was going to do, but with your "don't quote me" I'll wait a few more minutes. Any other offers out there?

This thing made me miss an ebay buy I really needed too!!

Actually you didn't change the order now that I look at it. But I'm still confused.

Standing in front of the car, the cylinders from left to right are 1,2,3,4. The coil terminals, clockwise from lower left are 1,4,3,2

Edit: On my car ('03 MCS) the coil is labelled as to which coil terminal corresponds to each cylinder.

Ah one more mistake by me to be corrected...I wasn't replacing the starter I was replacing the ignition (told ya I'm a car dummy). The Pilo Ignition (coil, whatever) is not labeled as the original is. But Greatbar is right, if I I had only looked on the original which was on my garage floor I'd have clearly seen the 1, 2, 3, 4 on it.

Thanks again, and that's it.

Until my next screw up...
