Weird sound at start up

i don't know how to explain this but this only happens when the car has not been started for a while( maybe overnite?) when i start my car up in the morning or afternoon usually for the first time, it makes a roaring sound that seems to be going up and down. This does not occur when I start my car afterwards since car has not been sitting out for long. I'm pretty sure this is unusual sound but how can i tell this to dealer if this only happens after a lengthy inactive state.

Mine also makes that roar noise when I first start it up in the morning. Its just the ecu adjusting the rev's for cold starts. Or atleast that's what the dealership told me.

almost sounds like a gurgling sound when I start the car - lasts for about 2-3 miles - noticeable when idling, thought it might be the a/c condenser, but still occurs if I turn it off. - 2005 MCSa

You could leave your car at the dealer overnight and have them do what is called a "cold start". What year and model is your car? Auto or manual?

I have a 2005 MCSa. I just checked the fluid level and it is definitely below the min mark.

I was going to add some coolant and see what happens.

Hmmmm... I would park the car with a clean piece of cardboard underneath to see if it is possibly leaking. The gurgling might be air in the coolant system.
