Random stalling out/shutting off when coming to a stop
Randoms times when coming to a stop and shifting into neutral, the engine will just die, tach drops straight to zero. It happens more often under hard braking from higher speeds but really will do it at any random decceleration. Sometimes it revs up after stopping and going into neutral to prevent from dying but other times is doesn't and just shuts off but all the electronics are still on, so like it just kills ignition....I assuming an ecu reflash from the dealer is needed, anyone else have a similar issue, mines and '07 MCS.
yep, same thing with me and some times it won't rev back up to keep the engine running so just shuts off...lemme know what you find out

i had some idle problems the first year I owned my 07 mc. Dealer never found anything. The mini engineers said fuel problem, even though I used only top tier. They sent me three bottles of mini fuel system cleaner (it may have been the bmw product). I ran a bottle through about every 3000 miles. Never had the problem again.
Another thing that can cause an idle similar to what is described is a manifold leak like from a not properly seated dip stick or oil filler cap. I had that happen once stopped and looked and sure enough when I check my oil my dip stick was sitting loose in the tube. Make sure these are seated well. I'm actutally considering an aftermarket dipstick from mini mania as it has two o-rings for sealing instead of one, and looks like it might actually be readable without rolling it on a paper towel.
In retrospect I have wondered if my first year problems were actually the dip-stick coming slightly unseated. It happened only three times on real hot days while running errands around town doing several stops, a high heat load case.
Let me know what you guys find out.

Mine has just be doing this recently, over the past couple months only. They found a boost leak in the boost tube right before the throttle body and replaced it, but it still does it, so don't think it could be a boost leak.
