Ticking Noise
Ticking Noise
This may be a dumb question. I live in Oklahoma, and we just had an ice (mostly sleet) storm here. I had to go to work today, and this requires me to take some lesser traveled roads. (We have those here in OK) Things were fine this morning as the roads were just solid ice. I drove over them without any issues. Unfortunately, by the end of the day, that solid ice turned into a snowy slush...so deep that in some places my front end would hit the ice. I got stuck once, and I couldn't get out. Then, I turned the ASC off and was able to make it out. Well, I got stuck two more times before making it home. The last was the worst. Thankfully, a guy stopped and pushed me out. My question is, as I was trying to rock myself out and the guy was pushing me out...my wheels were spinning. While this was happening there was a ticking noise. It couldn't have been my ASC, it was turned off. What else could it have been? Could I have broken something by spinning wheels in the snow/ice? I stepped out and smelled what appeared to be burned rubber...just figured that was my tires though. I've crawled under this car quite a few times, and it looks pretty solid under there. I'm just curious if there's anything I need to check. Thank you. Seth.
If I remember right, they were both spinning. I think I would have had better luck if my tires were in better shape. Not that they're necessarily "bad," but I'm quickly approaching a need for new tires.
Still a little curious if I should worry about that ticking. Of course, that was a week ago, and nothing has gone wrong. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it. Has anyone else spun in the snow and heard ticking?
