Headlight problem

Hi NAM members,

Normally when I start the car, the headlight comes up and down. Today I have turned the light on I found that the lights are too down. Moreover I have turned off the car and start it again the headlight won't to come up and down. What could be the problem? and how can I adjust the headlight?

Thanks from now.

Is your leveling sensor plugged in?? It may be faulty or I have seen damaged wiring to the sensor. Check it out. Its on the left front lower control arm of your MINI

The motors in the headlights are broken, mine has been doing this for a while. Once in a blue moon they work and Mini do not sell the motors seperately. They only sell an entire headlight housing with it.

I opted to get the Halo Projector headlights from ebay to remedy this problem as it does not have this feature.

Well if they dont self level, then I personally would just adjust them myself to the correct level you want and leave it there, why spend the money to replace if they still light up. I have not seen a motor go bad befor, not saying it can't happen.
You can see the sensor/connector by turning the wheels to the left and looking inside the front of the drivers front tire. you should be able to see the sensor and conector. There is also 3 mounting points for the inside housing of the headlamps themselves. sometimes I have seen the housing pop off the mounting post, which if the problem you can snap the 2 back together and should work ok.

Like the others have said, it could be the connector popped off or isn't on properly. I'm just giving you what went wrong with my car although it was just with the left headlight motor that gave in. I'm changing the headlights anyways so it doesn't particularly bother me anymore.
