Acting English...

L'il Pepper was acting particularly English yesterday morning. Remote would not unlock the car and turning the key in the lock did not turn on the interior lights. Everything woke right up when I started the car, but everything had reset to zero (clock, avg mileage, etc.). And, of course, everything was fine after that.

Any ideas? Similar experiences?

Thanks

Not a one. Have heard on some thread hereabouts that the keys can drop their codes once in a while.

It does sound like a battery related issue.

Still doing it...

Well, she's reset like this about 4 or 5 times now. Sometimes she won't lock with the keyless. One time while parking it felt like everything (lights, electric power steering pump, stereo) hiccupped for a split second. She always (so far) gets 'erself sorted quickly, but I'd sure like to know what's going on. I was at the dealer for something else and they looked at me like I was crazy. He 'reset' my key, whatever that means, but it's done it a few times since.

Dying battery?

Thanks

Most likely a dying battery or a newly developing bad cell in the battery.

About every 6 months or so my radio will turn on in the middle of the night. I'll get in the car and turn it off and a few seconds later it'll turn back on.

My 02 Cooper was doing the same thing. The connections to the battery terminal were just slightly loose. Tightened them up and no more issue. It's likely a loose connection or the battery is getting week and is just not strong enough on occasion.
