Another antifreeze leak

Yes, another antifreeze leak

I found I was low on atifreeze Mid November. I bought a gallon and topped it off.
My car overheated on my way home from work last night. I've now used almost the full gallon toping off two or three times now.
So since buying it in 06' & 49000 mi I've put in a gallon of antifreeze.

1) do you need to disconnect any of the radiator hoses to replace the power steering pump. All this started not long after the dealership replaced it.

2) I checked my dipstick as I'm about 3000mi from my next car requested oil change and what I saw really scared me. I've seen oil mix with antifreeze before and it didn't look like that, but it didn't look great either. There was something whitish at the tip of the stick and I could swear I saw a hint of green.
What does Synthetic sludge look like? This is my first car I've used it in.

(I miss my air-cooled beetle right now. It was nice not having a radiator of course I didn't have heat either)

Check your cooling fans.... engine and PS fan. Any chalky residue on any of the hoses? If you ran the car in the red on the temp gauge for a extended period of time, wouldn't really be suprised if the head is warped....
