Lost Ecu Screws

I lost screws that go to the black cover of the ecu. Where could I get a replacement at? I dont really want to go with the dealer they overcharge and I dont know what they would say.

Yowsa, tough one there.

The parts site doesn't show a fastener listing:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...32&hg=12&fg=10

Could go to an auto parts store they would have an assortment of generic automotive fasteners. The local Autozone actually has a huge screw / bolt / snap connector bin.

You would have guess but you should be able find em.

I won't ask how the heck you lost the entire set of them.

In the future try this:
I have a collection of baby food bottles, actually about 30 of them, a marker, and when I dismantle I drop each set of fasteners in a bottle, close the lid and set them on the work bench. If I will be leaving something alone for more than a couple of weeks I label the bottles.

Hey, if you're worried the dealer might be ticked, and mess with you down the road about 'why' you were in there, consider calling another dealer out of town, that does a lot of mail order like Classic MINI a vendor on here. Then you can get the right bit.

Or... Are the self tapping or machine screws? Get a friend with a 2nd gen MINI to pull one screw, go to the hardware store and match. Just watch for pitch too... and of course metric or not
