Right Door Panel Water Leakage

I parked the MINI outside last night in heavy rain and came into the car to find a pool of water in the passenger door's bin area. It seems the origin in the water is coming from the little plug underneath the door handle circle.

Has anyone else had this problem with their Gen2 lately?

I've called SF MINI for an service appointment on Thurs; let's see what they say!

i have the wet passenger floor problem. didn't check the door bin though. if water is going through your door panel, i'd be worried about shorting the window motor or speakers.

there's a rubber plug on the bottom edge of the door when opened. pop it off and see if water comes out or feel around to confirm if there's water inside. how's the window seal where the glass meets the door?

The window seal should be okay the last time I checked. Because there was no water leakage when I was washing my car..

As for the rubber plug I'll have to check tomorrow morning.

I'll be sure to check for water on the floor as well; didn't even realize to check this morning. I just laughed and shook my head at this British car and went on my way!

that's probably the right attitude. anyway, the only reason i noticed the wet passenger floor was while i was wiring some accessories. otherwise, i would probably have never noticed until the smell of mildew.

Well I checked for water in the morning and found none on the floor. Brought the mini into the dealer at 7 and they called me in the afternoo. Saying that the window seal had to be replaced. Part is set to arrive tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll be able to get the mini back for the weekend

Had the same issue with mine earlier this year. Dealer replaced the weather stripping around both doors with one that had a higher lip to to it. Ask that they do a carpet clean for you as well, don't want moldy floors.

Here's what they did:
"Outer most seal worn from improper adjustment. Found retaining screws that hold window not fully secured. Confirmed condition and install(ed) new inner and outer seal as necessary."

The car had to stay overnight for parts order; I had read your comment too late so I was unable to have them shampoo the carpets but as far as I could there was no water leak into the floors. So far so good through last night's rain; though I was unable to have the window close automatically after the first open-close post repair, thank goodness I read somewhere on NAM to hold the button down to reset the auto window closer. Saved me a trip back to the dealer that Friday-night!
