Speedometer stopped working...

During a long drive the other day, my speedometer simply went dead. The center analog needle doesn't respond at all and the tach mounted digital just reads "---". In addition, the "ABS", "check engine soon", "brake" (E-Brake), "ASC" and tire pressure lights all came on.

I had been driving through torrential rains before it happened which lead me to think it might be an electrical issue, but that's just a guess.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks.

I have the same problem occur with my car, although it happens randomly, both in dry and wet weather.

I'm thinking either a wheel-speed sensor, or that it might be the ABS control unit itself.

did you have any luck finding/fixing your issue?

It wouldn't be a fuse, because if it were a fuse, the problem would be there constantly, where as my problem comes and goes away on it's own.

I've been told that that rear, passenger side wheel speed sensor is the one that drives the speedometer. Just wanted to see if anyone else can confirm this.

most def. check for worn wires.
there was a bunch of wires under my hood with rubbing issues exposing the copper. when it rained, it caused all sorts of lights to come on

where abouts under the hood were you looking? near the ABS Unit, or on the other side near the ECU?

Confirmed! the RR wheel ABS sensor is what drives the speedometer and is a vital input for the operation of the ASC and ABS.
