This subject might have been discussed already, But I'll bring it up anyhow. My MINI Cooper's redline indicates it starts at 5500 RPM, but the performance data says 6000. Whats up? I have a CVT if its important.

My cooper S shows redline at 6750Rpm.

I though I heard somewhere that this can vary. Anybody with an 'S' that does not show 6750? Anyone with a CVT that's not 5500?

Can you post a picture of your tach?

Pebble.

Pebble, if you go to: http://www.mini2.com/images/gallery/press/dash1.ipg you will see my tach. The redline starts @ 5500RPM. Do all MINI's? Whats up?

In my S, the red line is 6750... not 5500 or 6000

If you are all taking about where on the tach the redline appears - WHO CARES?

the real question is when does the fuel cut-off come into play - that's the real red line!
