Boot/trunk sensor

The sensor that tells the car the trunk/boot lid is closed on my wife's 06 is bad... I have searched realoem.com for the part but cannot find it... anyone know where I can EASILY find the part number?

I'm pretty sure the switch is integral with the lock/latch assembly.
Number 8 in this illustration...

So I just took mine in for phantom dome light & boot/bonnet open. The SA looked at my service record and told me that I had not had the boot plunger changed yet. Apparently the OEM from the factory was slightly too short. I am scheduled to have the plunger replaced under warranty. Mine is of course a convertible so different config, but perhaps the same issue.

Because that is actually what it is...a switch for the alarm(if the vehicle is equipped with one) to set off the alarm if someone breaks into the hatch/boot.

EDIT:Doing a search on realoem.com for the part number you posted doesn't even show it for an R53...

Thanx Partsman for your help.

Well I'll be damned... I had a problem with the light staying on in our MCc. I put a piece of sticky-felt on the boot lid to push the plunger in a hair more. It's been fine since...

I'll be happy if the dealer will give me the correct plunger under warranty and let me replace it, but having the dealer to warranty work like this is just too annoying.

Mine was working part of the time, any time I put something in the boot the dome light would stay on. I cured the problem by turning the switch over to create more pressure on the switch and it now works all the time
