My car has been going through a tough week! My car has been having serious trouble starting, sometimes it starts other times nothing happens. My fan no longer works so I overheat if standing for long periods of time. My oil temps have been fluctuating like crazy! I was driving at 50mph in six when I watched my oil temps climb to 150 C. My voltmeter has been reading below 12 volts around 11ish, however whenever this warning light comes on, DSC and ABS, the volts drop to around 8. Sometimes when driving the volts stay around 8. Had autozone check the battery but he said it was fine, guy didnt seem like he knew what to do though.

Anyone expierence anything like this? My mini has become very reliable.

 

I really suggest taking it to the dealer or a mechanic ASAP since driving it like this is bound to be putting added stress on your alternator and is risking blowing your head gasket.

My guess on your problem is that either the fan or something that controls the fan has severely malfunctioned and is putting a large draw on your electrical system, at the same time it's resulted in your fans not functioning which has compromised your cooling system and this causes the oil temps to fluctuate trying to dissipate the additional heat the the coolant isn't taking care of. The warning lights are really irrelevant since all they're trying to tell you is something's wrong which you already knew.
