MCS Fault Code P0704?
That code is not in my Bentley(?) What year is your MCS?
This is from the above post: P0704 Clutch Switch Input Circuit Malfunction
Not sure what's wrong, looks like a job for......someone who knows more about this stuff than me!

I think...
0001-0999 are the same across all cars. If so, it means theres a problem with the clutch pedal postion switch or wiring. Does the cruise control work? You can also unplug the switch and see if you can clear it, (but you may or may not be able to start the car. I don't know if it's open when the pedal is down or not).

P0507 code
Thanks for the responses. I don't know if the cruise control works right now as I never use it anymore. I found out on a trip to the dragon that I was taking a 2-3 mpg hit by using the cruise. That's counter to everything I had heard about using cruise control but that killed that on the MINI.
The car starts fine. It's a '03 MCS (9/'02 build date BTW) with 106K on the odometer.
The other code I've been getting is a P0507 'Idle Air Control System RPM Higher than Expected'. That really doesn't tell me much. I could have told that from the driver's seat. If the AC is on the idle is where it should be and stable. Without the AC, sometimes, the idle climbs to about 1500 RPM. That's part of the problem in that it doesn't do it all the time like a failed part would indicate. I've cleaned everything a few times and haven't noticed any change. It still idles too fast occasionally but not all the time. When it does creep up, it will throw the code. Mechanically, everything seems to be alright. Is there an Electrical reason for this type of problem and how would I test for it to pin-point the problem part?
Any ideas? Could these codes be related or is the car possessed?
Thanks,
