Actually, that part # 34356761447 and 34356761448 seem to be for the brake pad sensors, not the ABS/wheel speed sensor/pulse generator. That is part # 34526756384 for the fronts and 34526756385 for the rears.

Looks like Pelican Parts has those for about $60 each (by comparison PenskeParts ~$130 fronts, ~$150 rears).

Boy, I feel stupid. You're absolutely right. I was kind of wondering why there was such a big difference in prices.
Well, at least you can get them for $60 - $100 elsewhere instead of $200 at the mentioned dealer.

I've just ordered ABS speed sensor from www.autopartswarehouse.com
Great service with a really good price...$230 including 2 front and 2 rear sensors, CA tax, shipping to my door.

FYI
Front ABS Speed Sensor by VDO for 2003 Mini Cooper Part #: W0133-1665873
Rear ABS Speed Sensor by VDO for 2003 Mini Cooper Part #: W0133-1665874

I will report back if the problems are gone after all the sensors are installed. My car is a now old with 80k miles so I figure I would change the whole thing all together.

Question, do I need to go to the dealer and have the car re-calibrated after the new sensors are installed?

Thanks,
J-

IIRC, it should be plug and play.

Keep the working old ones for spares if you do swap them all...they often just need to be cleaned (they do go bad though).....the cleaning is supposed to be done as part of a brake job I think, according to the manual...but most folks skip it....
