anyone had this happen. My CC was working fine then one day I was on the hwy
and pressed the on/off buttong on the wheel and the green light came on, then
off, then on and back off again. If I hold the button down the light just cycles
on/off/on/off as long as I hold it, it wont stay on. any one have any insight into
what this may be?

Darxar:

My MCS drove out of th show room with this problem. There is a resister somewhere in the CC circuit which needs to be replaced. Dealer accomplished the task quickly and three months later CC continues to function.

Never used it on any car.

Don't have a steering wheel on my coffee table either, or particularly care for beverage holders in my cars.

Call me a Dinosaur, but get the hell outta my way when I drive by ya.

Nice call from MiniUSA, I called them, hold time was not long, spoke with a nice
helpful Rep. they just wanted to make sure I was on the right track and he
menioned that becasue it was working again, to tell the Service Rep to take a
look at the button, it may be going.

Good PR to watch boards and help when they can, even if its moral support.

Thanks

darxar,

Had the same problelm just make an appointment with your service advisor. They have to replace a diode. Takes a couple hours and you'll be set to cruise on down the road.

On the night of the blackout I set the cruise for 95 mph and drove for over 40 minutes that way down NYS 87 Thruway. (Cops had the night off) Did not notice anyone passing me.

It does have it's place in some situations!

Regardless,

Wet roads and cruise control

I have a new 05 MCS with 1000 miles on it and a similar CC problem as some of the others in previous posts. It's a little different though. If the roads are dry it works fine. If it's raining or the roads are just wet it just blinks the green light a couple times and goes out.

Is there an undocumented feature on the CC that won't let it turn on if the road conditions aren't favorable? Or is this just another version of the CC problem?

BTW, my dealer doesn't seem to have heard about the "diode" problem before.

I just bought an 05 that had the same problem. I discovered that the door/latch under the steering wheel where the diagnostic tool hooks up (cant think of what it's called right now) was open. I closed it and my cruise started working again.
