replacing driver's sun visor
replacing driver's sun visor
I need to replace the sun visor on the driver's side of
my '03 Cooper. The cover for the mirror came off first
then, eventually the contents from the inside of the visor
fell in my face while driving.
I've put a large rubber band
around the visor until I could order a new one. I found them
at Mini Mania and they had the exact visor I needed.
Here's my problem. I was able to remove the 2 plastic
caps that cover the screws with no problem but the actual screws were put in with some type of screwdriver/tool that I don't have. It almost
looks like an allen wrench with a rounded end (instead of a flat
one) would fit into the screws.
Does anyone know what type of tool would unscrew these babies
or will I have to have this done? I was hoping to do it myself
since the actual process is pretty easy. The visor was $90
and now it looks like I'll have to pay to have the old one removed
and the new one installed.

I had to replace my passenger side visor about 1yr ago. I used what looks
like a star bladed screw driver. I was lucky to find a pair of Visors (new) for
only $30.00 for sale online.Took only 10 minutes to replace.

can be bought at any tools section of a home store, hardware store, or target.
It takes a T20 size. Unfortunately, I was only able to remove one of the two screws (which wasn't easy -- it was really tight). The other one will NOT budge -- my husband and I both tried. Looks like I'll need to take it in to my garage to get them to remove the second screw. Darn! This would have been so simple to do. I realize that these were put in with power tools but why do they have to tighten a visor like it's one of the wheels or a door?
