I have to change out my driver door lock actuator on my 03 MCS, but in order to do that I have to remove the door handle in order to remove the door lock in order to remove the actuator.

My problem is that I cannot get a tool on the fastener that is supposed to be accessible through the hole in the door panel under the rubber flap in order to remove the handle.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a secret I'm not aware of.
I'm using metric long-stemmed allen wrenches to get to it.

Please help
