Car Won't go into gear?

Hey guys,

I took my car to the MINI repair shop last week and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, and they said it shifted perfectly and that the clutch was smooth.

I got the car back and the car was shifting great and I was loving life for a week. This morning I can't get the shifter into any gear again, but the car started up great.

Anyone have any idea what is wrong? Thanks in advance!

Past posts would point to the shift cables that is if you think the clutch is working good. If I remember right it was a 02 to 03 problem.

Thanks!

That's a good idea. I had water that used to freeze in the cabled and would diable the shifter. Thanks again.

intermittent slave cylinder

I'm having Helix replace the slave cylinder because we think it's working intermittently just to be on thesafe side.

It's tough to know exactly because it doesn't appear to be leaking fluid.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like the slave cylinder problem I've had on my 05.

it was intermittent problem -- but once the cylinder was replaced, it was a "gone problem"

joedude99, while they already have your car at Helix -- pay the extra few bucks to have them put in the Helix SSK

^ I was talking about their short shift kit - well worth the money (about $40, if I remember correctly) -- but I'm sure you're loving the pulley (I have a helix pulley in the garage. . . just haven't gotten around to installing it)
