Anybody else had an issue where you can feel some kind of jolt or knock in the steering when you steer at low speeds? I can even hear it when it happens and I can always predict when it will happen .. eg parking and at roundabouts..

The really odd thing is that I have found it goes away sometimes when I have the Air con running..


Anybody..>? Mini dealers are useless and their computer says no so they wont do anything about it , I would just like to know what it is and if its a simple problem to get a proper mechanic to fix and not those BMW computer nerds..

 

and just to repeat that it only happens when I turn to the left and not to the right.

Also it seems like its coming from just under the steering wheel.

 

Just an update on this....

It went away on its own, it took over a year but eventually the knocking feeling in the steering just vanished! Maybe the new steering column needed to wear itself in.
