Very smooth. And in Manual/Sport mode, it's a six-speed with a real downshift engine-braking efect. I love it. There have been a lot of posts on this subject, so I'll refer you to the various responses already discussed. Do a search and you'll be amply informed!

I was using the "Search" at the top of the page, and was getting nowhere... I now found the other "forum search" and feel slightly embarrassed!
