Radio (cd) skipping

Radio (cd) skipping

My original radio in my 05 is really scared of bumps when playing cds, is that normal?

Not normal. I believe the CD player has memory to hold some of whatever is playing when the laser joggles. It should be able to ignore some pretty serious bumps.

Agreed - definitely not normal. Are you having the problem with factory-pressed CDs, or ones you've burnt yourself?

It's fairly common for the tracking to get wonky as the laser transport in a CD player starts to show its age, but I wouldn't think that would be a problem with an '05 model yet.

I beleive it is an 8 MB buffer so 1 - 3 seconds of bump that is a pretty harsh bump or your radio is failing.

If this is CD's you have burned try different media some media sucks
