Electrical issue

Hi all,

I went to get my MCS '02 cleaned at the car wash and some water came in where the driver side belt is located. It's now been 2 weeks and since then I've been having electrical issues... wrong temp, heating not working, lights going on an off... I taugh I removed all the water in the carpets, however, I can't seem to find what else can be done to resolve my issue. Have any of you ever had this issue? If so, what have you done ... should I bring it to the dealer immidiately or just my own mechanical garagist that has his own OBDII?

I forgot to mention that I live in Canada and some of the water has frozen.

I had a similar issue. My gauges all acted strangely, Temperature reading -40F, warning lights coming on and off. Eventually the car would not start and I had to be towed to a dealer. My sunroof drain plugs were clogged and water was collecting under the carpet. I live in Syracuse, NY so it was freezing as well. According to the dealer water had corroded "connector x15 had to replace all the pins." They also replaced the headliner. So if you have a sunroof you might want to check the drain plugs for it.

where are the drain plugs located on a MCS '02. It rainned last night and I had to remove all the water.

I got the car serviced and the rubber pipe attached to my sunroof drain was unplugged. This was probably the root of all my electrical issues since I own this car... Water does so much damage.

Glad you found the problem before more damage was done. I am sorry I do not know where the drain plug is located. I am sure somebody here does.

My '02 has had several issues this winter! Most showing up after going through a car wash. The one that really bothers me is the hatch openning by itself!

I haven't had any gauge issues or warning lights coming on and off.

I just noticed the other day, after it rained, that I was getting water on the passengers side floor under the dash. Does anyone know if there is a drain hole that may be plugged there???
