Seat Memory Problem

It seems that both my front seats have lost their memory. You know that neat feature that returns the seats to their original location on the tracks after you slide them forward to let some one in or out of the back seats? Well, neither of my seats do that anymore. Am I forgetting to do something, other than attempting to slide the seat back, or is there a way to reset it, other than taking it to the dealer, who will, no doubt, tell me they found nothing wrong?

In the seat track there is a metal part that moves and it can get flipped up . Pull your seat forward and you'll see it , just flip it back down .

Thanks! Is it something obvious? I don't want to pull the ejector tab by mistake. Great! I'll have to move the seat again and then spend 20 minutes making sure it's in the exact same position.

I'm sure there is a moral to that story somewhere.

I have found that when moving the seat back to the memory position, you have to slide the base back and then tilt the back up. Failing to do that would lock the base as soon as the back was fully tilted, but the next time you tilt the seat forward if you slide the base first it goes back to the initially set position.

Always let the base(butt) slide all the way back before up-righting the seat back(back).

Yeah, I know that part. And I looked and didn't see this "obvious" tab. Where exactly is it?

Nothing in the locking tab "flips up" in any way. It just slides forward or back on the track.

To fix this issue, slide the seat all the way forward.

When you see the silver tab in the track, slide it as far forward in the track as you can (by hand).

Fold the seat back into place (before moving back on the track).

The next time you move your seat back, it will re-engage the locking tab and you should be good to go.

This solution worked for me a few months ago. For some reason that silver tab just got out of wack with the seat. I pushed it as far forward as I could using a long screw driver. It has worked fine every since!

I was able to find the tab and reset it. Thanks all. However, the one on the passenger side did not just slide up. I had to depress the silver lever first, so I guess it is somewhere between a thing that just slides and having to flip the tab.
