Has anyone else had a problem with their car idling over 1,000 rpms when in neutral.

Mine started doing it recently, and goes back to normal after driving for a minute or two. Could it be dirt?

Any help?

Do you have the AC on, or is it really hot outside?

Which tranny do yo have?

And what do the "high-tech" radiator hoses do fo you?

Maybe if you could describe what was going on just before
it started idling faster than normal, it will help us think.

I have an 02/02 build MINI Cooper 5-speed also!

And here is how my car idles:
th eleft is at startup, and I drove to the store removing everything
where the wheel speed was greater than zero MPH:

 

My June 03 CVT idles above 1000rpms when in neutral too- just a little when I start up in the morning, no A/C on

 

It's going in on the 11th.

So, i'm not to worried.

It idles REALLY high when I start it off in the morning, and goes around 600 rpms in nuetral after running it for a little.

Of course it's hot outside. It's hot EVERYWHERE!
