Speedo buzz then reset

Hi,
I am new here, and this is my first post. I have an 04 Mini cooper, and I seem to have this weird thing going on and I was wondering if anyone else has had this or may know what it it. I will drive somewhere, and when I turn the car off, the speedo goes past zero, then buzzes for about a second or two. My windows won't completely close when I close the door, and (most annoying) the clock resets to 0:00. I matters not the speed or distance I drive, and it does not do this very consistently. I have had an ipod adaptor installed, and it seems to do it more often after I have been using the ipod. If I switch to the radio from the ipod before turning the car off it still does it. The other night the headlights even turned on and off briefly. If anyone knows the fix, I'd really really appreciate it. It is really annoying! Thanks.

Yeah, all is good with all of the wiring connections. I think that there may be some sort of "hiccup" when the ipod adaptor has been used sometime in the duration of a trip.

From: Washington. No, the other one.
Still a good idea to get the battery in for a full load test. A failing cell can cause some strange electrical gremlins...

It's def. the battery. Last time when my battery was faulty *would not hold the charge* my speedo would do the same thing. It would drop, vibrate and rise a bit. The window would go down when the open the door but not up. I would let the car rest a bit, turn the key to position 1 and bring the window up. Only then would the window go up inch by inch. Also in position 1, the wind shield wipers would move bit by bit by bit. The headlights are a ugly yellow when turned on. After I replaced the battery, the symptoms are gone.

I had the same problem with my 04 MC. After a few visits to the dealer (under warranty at the time) they could not find the problem. What it turned out to be was the positive terminal on the battery was loose. I found that when the problem occured after driving home from the last service at the dealer where they changed the ignition switch. I checked the battery with a meter, and noticed the positive terminal moved when I put the probe on the arm extending out of the battery box.
