blocked windshield spray nozzle

Has anyone had a blocked nozzle, my pass side nozzle is not working and as a result the other nozzle {there are a pair} shoots really far over missing the windshield completely! I know I have to remove the sound deadening material to get to the tubes, and I have tried to clear the nozzle with a fine wire but it still dosen't work . Any ideas?

Thats funny, i thought i was the only one having problems with that. My drivers side works perfect, but the pass. side, one works good while the other shoots over my car (im buying fluid to clean my windshield, not others, so would like to fix it)

I've been lucky and had success with poking the holes, , maybe try a squirt of compressed air. That is if can access an air compressor with rubber tipped air nozzle. Just be carefull with the pressure.

unclog

I'll bet that the nozzles are plugged with wax. Try my universal wax solvent: Equal parts water and isopropyl alcohol with a few drops of dish washing detergent. Apply this to the nozzles with an eye dropper. I think this will clear the clog. Only one down side, you will have to CAREFULLY rewax the area around the nozzles.

just go get a small safety pin or similar and clean them out. you can put the pin in the whole and move the sprayer sround to spray properly on your windshield.

I had an aiming problem (two of the four streams shooting over the car's roofline). While my MINI was in for other service, I had the dealer fix it. I believe there are very specific marks on the windscreen which the streams are supposed to hit. If you're under warranty, I'd ask the dealer to fix this sort of problem.

try a safety pin, dip the tip in vinegar and poke around in the jet.

If there's crap in there that won't dissolve...

that will just buy time. Take the nozzle off, blow it out with compressed air, and put it back on. That's the only way to do it for sure.

All this time I thought there was only one jet on the pass side nozzle; the other one's been blocked since I got the car. Looks like I'll need to buy a can of air.

I figured it out- after actually looking at the spray nozzles, it seems they are positionable, the one that i was having trouble with was just aimed high. easily fixed- just took a pen and moved it down.
