So today I installed the M7 STB. This was a hassle in itself. I had quite a bit of mushrooming and had to hammer my strut towers quite a bit. When I finally installed the STB I closed the hood to see if it would close properly since the STB is known to lift the hood. It turns out the hood is slightly raised so I pulled the the latch to open the hood and only one side unlatched. The driver's side didnt budge. After fiddling around with it for some time I still cant open my bonnet. ANy ideas???? I think the drivers side latched properly but then wont unlatch. Is there an alternative way to open the hood to fix this? ANy help is appreciated.....

 

by the way...the cable for the drivers side is pure slack...so im thinking I accidentally detached the end to the mechanism during my hammering. How do I unlatch the bonnet manually?

 

take off the drivers front wheel, remove the plastic fender liner, then you will have access to the latch mechanism

 

Or (assuming the cable is still attached), have someone apply downward pressure on that side while you pull the release..
