P1237 Again
P1237 Again
I know this has been discussed numerous times already (I have read all the other post) however I can't seem to put my finger on my problem.
Two what I call knowledgable people said it was the TMAP sensor, so I changed it to no avail. I've checked the wiring and can't seem to pin point the culprit. Could it be the MAP sensor? Does the MAP and TMAP sensors perform a calculation for the correct value? Could it be the BPV not closing quick enough?
My SES light comes on at relative low rpm (4000) when I lift off the throttle. I can reset the fault (P1237) and light, then drive without another fault until the next drive cycle. Also there is no performance issues when the light is on.
Although I was running a UNICHIP when the light started I have since removed it and received a tune by Jan, great running car, just the pesky light.
Any help?

P1237 Again Update
Based on the recommendation of another expert, I changed the MAP sensor and checked for vacuum leaks (none present)...light still comes on after every other drive cycle.
Help Still Needed
As I posted earlier, the SES light comes on every other drive cycle. I did notice when I end my driving (after the light and fault have been reset) and there doesn't seem to be any problems, I can scan for faults (SES light still not illuminated) and the pesky P1237 fault code will be there.
I'm almost ready to get the dealer involved, but there has to be someone here with the correct answer.
However I will take all comments from the gallery.
Thanks

I found P1237 code : Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Malfunction?? Is this right or does Mini/BMW list something else? Here is a linky.

Mini Codes
My scan tool from Mini Mania and the Bently manual both say...
..."Secondary upstream manifold air pressure sensor low input"
Thanks for your input I did check your link.

Dealer's Thinking
I stopped by Mini of Universal City and spoke with a mechanic and went over my engine bay and syptoms. Although everything looks, sounds, and runs okay...he's thinking the intercooler boots may be leaking. I have new Alta silicone boots to install later today. I hope it's not a problem with the M7 DFIC.

I Still Can't Believe It !
After many frustrating weeks trying to figure out the cause of my P1237 and occasional P0234 faults, I took my car to the best Mini shop (Johnny's Auto Clinic...aka West Coast Mini) in SoCal.
Seems it takes a smoke test at 3psi to show the culprit, a vacuum leak at my bypass valve.
I bought my car used a little over two years ago with 12k miles and only a handful of shops have touch my baby. Seems someone had put a tee in the bypass valve vacuum operating hose that didn't connevct to anything. I thought my performance was good, now that this has been corrected, I can't beleive how much quicker my car accelerates.
Waiting for my next mods...boost/vacuum and oil pressure gauges.

I have just finished a top end rebuild complete with a ThumperHead & NS1 Street Cam, only to have the above codes show up. Thought I had it solved when I found incorrectly connected vent lines & vacuum lines. Oh well back under the hood, looking for a vacuum leak.
NOTDULL, could you be more specific on the find, I have a recently new DT BPV, so I don't suspect that as the issue. I am hoping a SC line.
Cheers again for the info.
This is a very old thread, and the OP hasn't logged on for over a year so I doubt you'll get a response. But I'd too love to see one as I have these same codes after my DT BPV install. But I had to replace the super charger intake tube also as I broke it during the install...
Thanks minintrigue, I went back in & found the vacuum line on my DT BPV had come off, I reconnected it and it ran great for a couple of days. Now it is back, but I too have the same problem, my intake tube is broken, I saw it during the rebuild ordered the part, only to get to the wrong one. The small tab that the securing bolt holds it in place broke. Anyway I am waiting on a new one, fingers crossed that will solve it finally. Bit frustrating after doing all the work, replacing most of my sensors (TMAP, MAP, temp, cam position) and then to have codes
. In the end it has been worth it & fun to do, I know I will get it eventually.
Thanks for chiming in.

And the problem continues, only it's getting worse. To a point where I have "flame out" the car basically shuts down & EML light comes on. It is like there is a blockage in air flow. Now I have codes 1237, 1239, 0107, 0113, 1688. I have had to pull off the road, shut it down & restart. At this point I think it is a sensor that is related to manifold pressure. Might have to give up & head to dealer....reluctantly !!
