PS pump failures

Just curious, After reading the two failures thread. The reason DiD was driving a differernt car on Sundays AutoX was his PS pump had also failed. So how common is this PS pump failures? 
And is this a MCS only issue like the coolant tanks or have any MC drivers had their PS pumps fail as well?
