So today I noticed that if I push my brake pedal in all the way (when completely stoped) and push a little more I will hear a clicking noise...if i turn the car off and push the brake pedal in hard I can still hear it and it seems to happen at a certain position in the travel of the brake pedal...any thoughts?
The brakes work fine and are smooth (only 4200 miles on the car) so I think its just something with the pedal assembly

Im taking the car in next tue to have my idle whistling looked at so I'll add this to the list

 

My clutch hinge squeaks.

 

The clicking noise could be the switch that turns on the brake lights, but that's just a guess.

 

i dont think thats it because it happens wayy after the lights have come on...it happens at the very bottom of the travel...if i push the brakes all the way down (while still) and then press a little more I can here a click, but its a click that happens about 5 clicks back to back at that point. It sounds like a stretching spring or some kind of metal click.

I also noticed that it only started after my ABS came on the other day when i was cut off and had to stop and make a quick turn (it felt so weird cuz in the pedal it felt like the brakes broke but that were stopping just fine) and then after that i noticed the click

 

Like to know what your idle whistle is. I have a MC and haven't noticed anything like that.

 

Yeah i did a search and found other R56 MC (non S) owners had the same problem...seemed like theirs was the water pump.

I take it in on Tue so I will post what the problem was (i hope when they do figure out it they have the part there, but I'm sure they will have to order one so it wont be fixed that day)

I noticed it starting about a week or 2 ago and now it happens whenever its warmed up, but its not crazy bad, but I am glad i can induce it to prove it to the techs...im at 4200 miles

 

Do you have any sound clips of the whistle? Would like to know what to listen for...

At first its at the cabin (hood open) then I put the phone right next to the engine against the seal and the hood bumper. When the engine has heated up enough the engine will do that repeatedly without reving like it does on the lest part where it goes on and off as the ECU controls the idle

Oh and you can also notice at the very end when I shut off the engine this whistle can be heard

turn up the volume its kinda quiet...this is engine off and bonnet open

I noticed it when parking and putting it into gear...it makes this noise every time I let out the clutch now even in neutral...it happens at the top of the travel (last portion before fully off clutch) (plus I can feel it in the pedal)...im sooo glad I go in tuesday

Anyone have any ideas?

The brake clicking is just it relieving pressure when you keep pushing the brake

The clutch:
They think it has something to do with the contact with the throwout bearing. They aren't a hundred percent sure, but they can hear and feel the clicking as well, but they can't do anything under warrantee because it functions properly
