Anybody else have this problem? The coolant reservoir on my '03 S has a small crack right in the middle, along the seam. Coolant has been leaking out to the point that the reservoir is often at it's lowest possible point.

The car has never overheated (according to the guage) however, the fan occasionally comes on after the engine is shut off. The dealer has ordered a replacement reservoir.

Do we think the temp. guage is accurate? On another thread this past winter some MCOers stated that they believed the guage indicated a warmer temp. than was possible in very cold climes, shortly after start-up.

Check your reservoir - I can't be alone in this!

Lots of threads on this... You need to get the tank replaced. Top up the fluid until you get the new tank. Don't wait too long to get the work done if it's leaking that bad.

Do you have an early in the year 03? I thought that they'd fixed this before too long into the 03 model year...

rygold,

so many threads on this subject that I can't even begin to tell you where to start. Maybe check VDubDoug's latest on mods and the Forge all metal reservoir. Big bucks, but no mo' problems.

I knew I'd seen threads on this before.

My coolant reservoir was cracked also..i found that when i drove my car on the freeway that it would start smelling when i stopped somewhere. i carried it to global imports not knowing it was cracked any they fixed it that day free of charge. They also had to replace my back hatch lock because it was loose. but it took like 10 minutes for them to change it and get be back on the road. good luck...

Please see this thread and focus the discussion there.

Unfortunately this is a common problem. I'm going to lock this thread because this topic has already been covered more than adequately in the on going thread we have in Beneath the Bonnet.
